I facilitate kambo ceremonies in Arizona for those feeling called to receive a deep cleanse, emotional catharsis and spiritual activation felt in the body. These ceremonies are always private and shared upon request for individuals, couples or groups. For those who would like to travel to see me, they can be part of a custom, one-on-one or small group spiritual retreat.

LIFE IN THE FLOW
As a highly sensitive empath myself, I love the peaceful energy of nature and live off the grid in the wilderness. I’m based 40 minutes west of Phoenix in the area of Wickenburg, Arizona, where I run entirely on solar power. I’m passionate about holistic health and wellness, fitness, and sharing my gifts to help you anchor inner peace and power.

WHY I BECAME A HEALER
What called me to this path initially was that I needed tools to heal myself, emotionally. I endured a painful, traumatic childhood as a sensitive, undiagnosed autistic child getting bullied relentlessly at school and then coming home to a critical, abusive family. I coped by diving into academics and athletics, which I was good at, so I emerged into adulthood with the external appearance of success.

But inside, I was suffering with major self-esteem issues, chronic anxiety and depression, negative self-talk, perfectionism, overeating and overworking, codependency and other effects from enduring boatloads of trauma, like not being able to cry or feel my feelings.

In my heart, I always believed that there was indeed a path to liberation from suffering. When I finally found it, I dedicated my entire life to it. The golden keys for my healing were:

• Intuitive energy healing with Reiki

• 12-step recovery groups

• Sacred medicines: Kambo, Cannabis, Hape’ & Ayahuasca
  
  I’ve invested in more than a thousand hours of sessions with talented healers and did my own extensive inner work as well, which was essentially a full time job itself for years (on top of my professional work). And I also spent seven years in a recovery program, where I was fortunate to have very wise mentors.
  
  Today I am healthy, strong, empowered, and confident. Inner peace is my default setting (most of the time). I’m in tune with my heart and strongly connected to my divine GPS. CAREER
Before Reiki entered my life in 2012, I ran my own herbal apprenticeship program in Oregon and taught public workshops about plant medicine. Before that, I worked as an investigative journalist in New York and New Jersey, which informs my skills as a teacher and writer that I bring to my current profession. The East Coast is where I was born and raised.

FORMAL EDUCATION
I earned a BA in Philosophy from Rutgers University and later an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Goucher College, which opened the door to writing my first memoir, “Dandelion Hunter: Foraging the Urban Wilderness,” about finding nature in the city of Portland through connecting with weeds and wild plants for food and medicine. You can still find this paperback in mainstream bookstores; it was published through Lyons Press in 2013. (Note: This is under a different name. If you’re curious about that story, I share the details of my name change in Chapter 2 of Trust the Flow).

I have been working with kambo Amazonian frog medicine since 2017, first by receiving a 33-treatment initiation from a dedicated IAKP practictioner, and later finding a wonderful mentor, Kari Champoux, who was trained both by IAKP and in the Amazon jungle by indigenous Huni Kuin healers.
